How to Test Your Course Ideas BEFORE You Spending Time and money

At a group meeting that which we attended earlier in the day there was a discussion about something I immediately wanted to share with you.

He stated, "Don't invest a lot of money or time when starting a new project Start by creating an MVP and go from there. Your customers will tell them which direction you should go and what they like or dislike regarding the product. That will save your time and money ."

What I've observed over and over again are people who put EVERYTHING in the creation of a course or membership site before evaluating the idea even.

I'm not saying that HTML0 isn't a good thing, I've been there and know the mindset.

            There is another way to do it.            

Perhaps you have already got an established website and are wondering what this has to do with you. The information I'm about share works for starting a new website. It also works for making new applications available to already existing websites.

So...

Prior to committing a significant amount of time and energy planning and recording, editing and promoting your program, do this.

1. Make contact with all your contacts and potential buyers (if you're starting from scratch, this is likely every person you have on social media, colleagues and so on.)
2. Invite them for a live course for 4-8 weeks that will be held on Zoom, 1 hour each week, over the topic that you'll create your course about.
3. Charge a nominal amount for this
4. You can use this as a way to determine the amount of interest

If you're not able to convince 3 participants to enroll in the live course, you're going to have difficult time convincing people to join a program.

The other reason why this method is effective is that you don't have to prepare all of the material ready ahead of time. Prepare yourself for the lesson first, then your next lesson will be based on what students require help with.

By the end of the course, you'll get feedback from real students who paid you. This will help you build a course that's actually valuable since you will have uncovered ideas/problems/solutions you didn't originally think of.

I'm hoping you'll be able to use this advice whether you are creating an entirely new website for members or simply adding a new course to your existing site.
