We are proud to introduce our longest-running Woo Happiness Engineers -

Jan 27, 2023

The celebrations around the 9th birthday of Woo have taken into account how Woo has evolved and changed over the years.

As support is an essential component of our services So what better way to look over and stop than through the voices that from the three longest-serving happiness engineers.

Stuart Duff, Sven Hutchinson, and Daniel Dudzic are the first line of Woo support every single day, providing assistance to resolve numerous questions and requests for our clients.

The trio have joined WooThemes at the end of 2011 back in the days in the days when themes were still the main source of income while eCommerce was only the glimpse we saw. They have plenty to share about their experience so to date, and also their opinions on what's necessary for anyone looking to be a part in helping clients through their help desk.

Find out what they've told us about their experiences.

Woo Team in Berlin, July,

Awe-inspiring Woo From Scotland, Poland, Thailand and all the places in between.

The office is at Airdrie, Scotland, Stuart assists clients who bought premium extensions from .com. Sven helps with sales and pre-sales account at his home in the tropical Thailand and Daniel will be the final one who handles the payment queue tickets at his home in Warsaw, Poland, where the family lives. family.

Note: In addition to being a talented musician, Daniel is also known as Woo's "most entertaining dancer" (we suggest you contact any Woomattician on one of the WordCamp to get more information or images).

The longest-running happiness engineers having begun in the beginning when Woo's only focus was designing and creating. It was enjoyable to watch the focus of the business move and increase not only in personnel numbers, but also in terms of the company's performance?

Stuart The past year has seen an unforgettable journey across the years, through numerous emotions. The growth of the company to the current state is awe-inspiring and one that I am extremely grateful to have been a part of.

The initial idea was a product designed to complement the theme, and we were frequent requests for functionality to store by our theme users. We didn't think it would be in 2011 However, the store could grow to become the most popular online storefront.

The Sven The support staff at the time consisted of five or so employees total. I have found an excellent value in having observed a company (that I had been employed by) grow from three individuals with a couple of concepts and then grow to what it is now.

Daniel It's been quite an adventure! Since the 1st of October this year - the day Woo released his public debut. It is amusing to consider the fact that we're twins!

Although I'm somewhat overwhelmed by the massive growth and progress we've witnessed. From a team of 15 to as a team to an organization of over 500 was an incredible journey in learning and growing. I'm happy with the fact that despite of our modifications no matter what our main objective was, we'll always try to give the best customer service . It's been a pleasure to be part of it.

What is the definition of open source? What does it mean for us?

Sturdy: It means everything for me, particularly given the present context where everything is being more controlled and monitored. I am of the opinion that projects such as WordPress are always more vital in ensuring freedom of expression and managing your own information or that of your business's. Because WordPress allows publishing to all and publishes can be done by anyone, I'm believe that the same thing can be said about eCommerce as well as eCommerce. Both are open to everyone and have total control over the content you publish.

Sven Transparency is your first thought about in this article. This is a crucial aspect in the current day and even in the days to come. Because the internet brought people together, and just one click away is a text message it is a vital aspect. Anybody who is connected around the world can access the software. With it, users are able to learn, assist others and possibly aid in making the process more efficient through the incorporation of basic features or upgrades.

Daniel Free-source is freedom and community. This is the process of democratizing eCommerce.

"We endeavor to deliver an exceptional customer experience and it's been a privilege to be one of them." - Daniel Dudzic

Work remotely How do you imagine a typical day would be like for the average individual?

Stu: I usually get up around 8am, and then take my dog for walks to help wake my body up. I start my work at 9 a.m. and continue to work until at around 6pm or later into the evening, depending on the time of starting.

Sven My habit to wake up early each morning and take a trip to the nearest café. I start by looking up what's new going on with Woo. After that, I jump right into working with our customers. The majority of my work is completed during the first hour of the day and am my most productive. The afternoons are dedicated to cleaning furniture pieces as well as examining new topics in greater depth and doing my final reaction to clients.

Daniel: The biggest benefit of being a remote worker who works from the comfort of my home. It keeps me from being stuck in Warsaw traffic and lets me spend more time with my beloved ones.

What are the most commonly encountered issues you have to face as a support specialist?

Sven It's possible to get kinds of inquiries from people without any experience with computers or do not even know the value of WordPress could be as high as 30 years of experience and knowledgeable developers that are very specific regarding code-related queries.

The biggest issues that arise within this range of people are often the same, due to the flexibility of choice that WordPressand WordPressprovides the users. There are numerous websites hosting third-party themes and plugins  this means that there is a possibility of creating programming conflicts, particularly if you don't ensure that your website is up-to-date and well-maintained.

Daniel The majority of instances, the issues we are in a position to resolve are solved with the help of the latest version of HTML0 and extensions or disabling themes and plugins.

What are the fundamental skills that you must have in order for you to get an employment as an Woo engineer? Are you already a Woo Happiness Engineer?

Sven An eagerness to find solutions to issues! The general rule is that you're either trying to find out what the root cause is for why something doesn't work in the way it should on the website of the client or giving suggestions on what they need to think about to create their ideal online store. It's like solving a riddle: what components could be placed together in order to help the user to achieve the goals they've established?

The Study The ability to become a better learner by being compassionate, and curious about how things operate and adaptable to the speed of evolution. Furthermore, the capacity to complete a survey and then submit an application also important because I've talked to those who knew that Automattic is hiring , but they were unable to submit applications due to various reasons. If you don't apply, you can't work with us.

Daniel is patient in addition to being quick to learn.

Are you able to recall memories unforgettable memories in which you were content?

Daniel It was the time that I could interact with our customers live, in real-time, at WordCamps, WooConfs and Meetups providing them with the chance to express their concerns and to be able resolve a variety of problems right now.

Sven We enjoy having discussions across the world regardless of where they're. There are a variety of extensions created by us and other third party developers. I have the most pleasure from working to some bizarre design ideas from our customers. Then we work on figuring out the ideal layout for customers who could begin their own store. The more creative the store and more intriguing I'll view it as an opportunity!

The Stu The most rewarding thing is capable of helping someone else and provide information as it's something that I love doing. If I can aid a person who's been through a rough moment (or was impacted in their business due to negative events) into a state of joy, then that's what is what makes me happy.

What do you believe is the biggest misconception about satisfaction and support?

The Stupefy that we have everything we know about each WordPress-related theme or plugin ever created, and that includes themes Woo did not create. It's quite amazing just how much information the Happiness Engineers have stored within their minds, but they're not in a position to to comprehend every theme or plugin in detail.

Daniel Daniel do not have feelings.

Sven: It could mean that this could lead into a completely different position in the future. A lot of companies consider this to be their employees who perform the "lowest level" work and hence straightforward, but I do not think that's true.

Do you have any advice you can offer to people that are only getting started with learning and would like to understand the fundamentals of the process?

Stu: The most effective suggestion I can provide to any person is to jump right into the HTML0 platform, make an installation and learn about how works by playing around. Join one of the many Facebook groups that you can focus on . If you're serious about setting up a business through Facebook, I would suggest starting with attending a class similar to that of Patrick Rauland. The tutorials provide an excellent overview of the website.

Sven Start by watching this wonderful 101-video-series no matter if or not there isn't an appropriate website available for the tutorial. However, these instructional videos give you the complete understanding of the method that operates. In addition, I make simple videos when I have time. I'm always happy to help with any queries. My goal is to keep expanding them regularly! If you have questions regarding your store that you'd like to establish and the most effective way to do it please contact us. we'll guide you to the right track!

Daniel Don't be overwhelmed by the variety of options you'll see, and the help files you encounter. Soon, it will be much easier. I promise! If there are any questions that you're unsure about please don't hesitate to call us on support. We're happy to assist you by providing answers. We'll aid you with creating your online store, and set it up within a few minutes!

There you have it - an additional description of what is going on in the life of a cheerful engineer, and the steps required to put a smile to the faces of every customer.

If you're interested in working with us and deliver a great customer experience with our customer support staff, why not apply? We're always hiring and would love to hear from us. Woo!
