In this section I'll show you how the Member Content Team effectively uses Strive to oversee our workflow for blog posts. With several writers contributing to six blogs, maintaining an organized and well-controlled workflow is extremely important.

Thankfully, Strive provides two great tools that make the process easier and help ensure a seamless process. Let's explore how we leverage these features:

New Drafts

On the left side of the Content Calendar page, the " Add New Draft" will be your starting point to start your blog.

When clicked, it opens the pop-up where you can effortlessly input all important information required to write the creation of a blog post.

We use the Title field to indicate the assigned writer by including their name in the title of the post.

The magic occurs when you press on the Create New Draft button located at the bottom of the window.

Strive instantly creates a brand new draft in WordPress, populating all the inputs into the WordPress Editor. The integration of Strive and WordPress eliminates the need to transfer data over a long period of time which ensures a fluid and efficient process.

If you start a new draft Strive generates a special box within the unscheduled Drafts column that displays every pending task for writers. This feature allows for clear and easy visibility and easy access to current tasks.

A streamlined workflow with color-coded progress

Strive's vivid color scheme does more than just add visual appeal but it also acts as an effective tool for the process of writing blog posts.

Each color is a particular stage in the workflow which allows us to clearly explain the next steps and responsible individuals. Let's look at how we can use these colors:

  1. Not In Progress (Red): When I create a New Draft the system automatically takes the status of not started with a striking red color. This signals to the assigned author that the blog post is ready to write.
  2. writing (Orange): Once the writer has begun writing the draft, they change the status of their post to Writing, and are accompanied by a striking orange hue. The color change signals that the posting is currently in process.
  3. Editing (Yellow): When the draft is completed and is ready to be reviewed, the writer changes the post's status to Editing. It is shown by a bright yellow hue. This informs me that the post requires my attention for further reviews as well as revisions.
  4. Complete (Green): After I finish the edits and decide that the article is now to be ready for publication and I change the status to complete. Post box immediately changes into a reassuring green color.

Green has a significant role in our lives, since Strive provides an option which automatically posts each Complete (green) article on the scheduled date and hour in The WordPress Editor. This feature significantly saves time. But, it requires constant checking of dates and times whenever it is time to "go to green."

After a publication is successful and is published, the page turns black. This indicates that the entire process is completed.

Easy Integration With Your Main Content Calendar

Strive's individual blog content calendars make blogging easier for us. What about our primary Asana calendar? Do we keep track of all deliverables associated with our topics?

With a customized Zap, triggered whenever an update draft is made within WordPress, the draft seamlessly transfers into our Asana calendar of content and specifically into in the "New Blogs" section I created.

The Zap will automatically assign the appropriate task to me, ensuring I am notified of whether the draft is in the system. Then, I go to Asana and effortlessly drag the post into the proper topic area.

It's an absolute triumph, streamlining our workflow and eliminating the necessity for duplication of work.
