Hamburg-based tattoo artist and illustrator Ines Hassler, who is also known by her stage name of Frau Ines lives by her creativity and talent as well as her courage and dedication to the community of artists in Hamburg.

"Creative exchange, communication and a feeling of being part of the community is crucial for meand have had a profound influence on my professional career," says Ines. The location in Hamburg is a place where creativity is cultivated by Ines along with her own local group of artists: Hey Du Hey Du. It is an art store along with her tattoo studio. Additionally, Live Art Club, their "cheerful colorful, energetic" drawing classes. "I would not be in the position I am now if were not open to possibilities of what Hamburg and its people could give me in the last few years," Ines says.

Active artist since at a very young age, Ines studied a variety of arts-related disciplines during her time at university prior to settling on what seemed to be the most suitable choice for her: designing. "But after only a few years working in agency work," she says, "I realized that I was more dedicated to my work during my free time than working for major corporations and clients. That's why at one point I decided to create my own venture and work full time within the realm of art."

The use of creative variety as a motivator

"The variety of my day-to-day activities keeps me motivated and imaginative" she says. "The hardest thing for me is be doing identical tasks repeatedly. I enjoy shifting between different jobs, working with different groups while striving to achieve the same goals. My job feels like a leisure activity."

"But naturally, it's frequently difficult," she acknowledges, "especially during times of epidemics or when multiple deadlines of different parties join together. It can become a real source of stress , and sometimes too much. It is my responsibility to find a equilibrium."

"In all of it, it's self-awareness which never fails to triumph," Ines adds. "Sometimes it's difficult for me to accept having the ability to look at my job. But for me I consider it more than a job, it's passion."
