The Yoshida family is a very creative one, including illustrator and artist Kentaro Yoshida. His mother, too, an artist, has been an influential influence on his workeven though she wasn't completely happy of his professional choices. "First she did not agree with my making a career out of it. I believe she understood the difficulties because of her own experience. This was an uphill battle, but I did give an attempt and, as it turned out, I was not a failure," Kentaro says. "She is definitely the most important motivation in my life."

Kentaro was born into the village of the family of fishermen from Toyama, Japan, but was forced to move to Australia at the age of 18, where he is now residing in Sydney. Following his move, and the subsequent success, Kentaro has built a professional freelance business as an artist. His offerings include paintings of custom surfboards and prints and murals, and collaborating with top brands and musicians.
