The family tradition of creativity runs deep for the artist and illustrator Kentaro Yoshida. His mother, who's also an artist was an important influence on his work even when she wasn't entirely supportive with his choices for his career. "First she was not a huge enthusiast of me becoming an artist full time. It seems like she was aware of that it was difficult due to her experiences. Yet I decided to give the idea to see if it could work and, ultimately was able to make it through," Kentaro says. "She is definitely the biggest source of inspiration to me."
Kentaro is from the fishing village of a family from Toyama, Japan, but relocated to Australia at the age of 18, where he is now residing in Sydney. After that relocation and its his subsequent successes, Kentaro has built a full-time freelance career as an artist selling prints, custom paintings of surf boards and murals and also working with big companies as well as artists.
