The moment Pooja Bavishi decided to start her own business to market ice cream, Malai was an ice cream she created with an unambiguous view of her personal taste. "I invented Malai as a way to show off the flavor of my meals, which I ate as a young Indian American in a popular way," she says.

"Everyone is affected by memories of ice cream was a part of their childhood. The majority of these memories involve going to your favourite ice cream location to enjoy a scoop and friends," Pooja says. This reunion of childhood memories is brought to Malai to replace local and market food halls. It also has freezers in food stores, food pop-up carts across New York City, and the popular flagship location in Brooklyn offering local and national delivery.
