When Jeremy Cohen was 15 and a half, he took a family vacation to Yellowstone National Park unexpectedly sparked his love of photography.

"My dad bought me a digital point-and-shoot camera," Jeremy shared with . "My sister began taking photos on it, and I thought that they were cool, so I wanted to test it. I took a bunch of pictures of nature which inspired me to enroll in the film photography class at my high school , as an elective after I arrived back home."

The initial desire to document the world around him set the tone for his journey to becoming professional photographer. From to his Quarantine roof culture series through his everyday Portrait project Today I Photographed, Jeremy went on to make use of his camera to "uplift and amplify untold portrayals of the human condition." People noticed: Jeremy has built an following of more than a million followers on social media--and has been able scale a successful freelance photography career.

Turning to freelance using a website

This strategy worked: "I started to get hired for some small gigs but then eventually, I was able to finally work full-time as a freelance photographer."

"I am able to use my website on ," Jeremy says. "It's my primary portfolio that allows visitors to look through the absolute top of my work, no matter if it's personal projects, client workor other miscellaneous photos."

Building a website also helps to establish freelancers' credibility. "In my view," Jeremy says, "a good website is crucial to photographers for their clients to consider them serious."
