Let go of the perfection anxiety Tips from the creators of content

Oct 14, 2022

Perhaps you've known someone who could not finish their project because they believed that everything had to be flawless. But, perfection doesn't exist (truly). Therefore, your project is left without being completed in the computer or their studio. Many might think that your time wasted because there is no way to witness the work of the designer.

Perfectionionism is a significant issue for creatives and entrepreneurs. Based on a study by the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, perfectionism may be associated to "feelings of failure, guilt and indecision, as well as delay in the form of guilt, shame, and low self-esteem." In the end, many struggle to get ahead with the task at hand or with their projects and this is known as perfectionist paralysis. But, how do you get over it?

Get rid of the perfectionist mindset and recalibrating to a more realistic standard of what's willing to be shared is an ongoing challenge. To help you with this, we invited two knowledge creators to discuss their own experiences in overcoming the fear of perfection during a virtual summit in August, 2022. You can watch the session here:

What is the reason people are obsessive about the pursuit of perfection?

Have you overcome the need for perfection?

Digital products don't need to be flawless, however they still need to reach the standard of excellence before they can be offered for sale. Can a designer set their standards to an amount of excellence that still will benefit their company as well as their image?

Grace says:

"Consider how it represents the level of content and the knowledge that you're going publish? Does it provide a compelling account of the value you've got to offer? Also you need to ensure that you've got your copy edited as well as having excellent sound and videos. These are all things likely to enhance the customers experience as pleasant as it can be.

However, I believe that most importantly move to the next level. You don't need an expensive production team to make an outstanding video. You can shoot something nice using your smartphone. Make sure that you don't have any background, and that the sound quality is top-notch.

What's the very first thing an expert creator could take to help them create the first digital product?

   Steve says:

"I notice that the majority of the business owners are consumed with their message and they're taking their eyes off the marketplace. You must ask yourself - do I have a market willing to accept my message? Then, you must identify if there's any market to your message?

It's quite simple to you can ask questions such as:

  1. What's the issue that my passion or words for solving can help solve?
  2. Which is the reason and does it require the solution?
  3. Which are the people you're required to help?
  4. What are the best ways to find these?
  5. Will they be able to
  6. What amount of money are they in a position to allocate
  7. What's the primary reason someone ought to choose you over many alternatives available?

can help you get the information you have learned across the corners of the world (finally!)
