Oct 8, 2024

Kajabi is a course online platform that has been in use for more than a decade. It was launched in 2010 as a sales platform, it's evolved into a well-known program that combines marketing and sales in its teaching. LearnWorlds has been created in the year 2014, and is now a platform similar to Kajabi, with asynchronous course features as well as marketing tools.

In this piece, we'll compare LearnWorlds vs. Kajabi. Because both are platforms for courses and both offer asynchronous courses, we'll look at the way they provide asynchronous course alternatives, the options they give for live teaching and community-based learning, as well as their business as well as marketing features, and which apps each has.

LearnWorlds vs Kajabi

Course Platforms

LearnWorlds

LearnWorlds - Course Manager

LearnWorlds has only become popular in the last few years, but it's a well-designed asynchronous course platform and it's growing in popularity. The platform is able to deliver courses with characteristics like:

  • Customized learning paths and course player, content drip and SCORM compliance
  • AI features like auto transcripts, linking lessons to a TOC, and incorporating interactive elements into video lessons
  • Create 16 different types of assignments, customize summary screens, create a bank of questions which you can use for future assessments, and award branded certificates
  • Create questionnaires that help to comprehend the experiences of students

Kajabi

Kajabi app

As with LearnWorlds Kajabi is a powerful asynchronous course platform. Like LearnWorlds, you can make a course from all kinds of content including text, audio videos, downloads, quizzes, and surveys. The asynchronous course builder happens within the LMS feature. It has useful features like previews and content dripping.

Kajabi is also using AI similar to LearnWorld's. But it's taken a different slant, focusing more on AI the generation of texts to create course content as well as landing pages. These AI tools are available to all they don't require you to be an existing Kajabi user to utilize these tools. These include: an plan of the course generator, lesson content, video scripts, and finally, a landing page as well as social media and emails.

Kajabi AI tools

Kajabi's course creator can be customized, which means it is possible to design your asynchronous course in the method you want.

Which is the best?

Both Kajabi and LearnWorlds have a lot of strength in this area. Each of them has a robust LMS that is ideal to use for courses that are synchronous.

  • Our opinion is that LearnWorlds offers a slightly better learning platform. Its features are accessible yet robust, and it offers greater options for assessment as well as evaluations.
  • Kajabi isn't as robust than an LMS however, it is a better choice for courses marketing capabilities. Because they are integrated to the course platform, it could be a better option for some students (more details below). ).

Live Learning and Communities

LearnWorlds

LearnWorlds was designed specifically with live interaction with students with live student engagement in mind. It does however, accomplish most of its live capabilities through integrations, which you'll likely have to buy separately. But if you can overcome this hurdle, the live teaching options are pretty good. You can:

  • Run live meetings with Zoom , Webex, and Calendly integrations-these permit group or 1:1 video sessions.
  • Host live chats using segmented chats, breakout rooms as well as polls. Share screens
  • Capture live sessions and then download it
  • Different sessions can be run simultaneously with various instructors.

Although LearnWorlds isn't able to support native livestreaming , the integrations offer a lot in terms of teaching live for your courses.

    Community and Memberships

LearnWorlds Community 2

However, the community side of Live Engagement isn't great, but. LearnWorlds provides a simple community forum. It's possible to split it up into multiple spaces, but appears to be dated. LearnWorlds has no native community video. It also has a 20MB attachment limit.

Kajabi

Similar to LearnWorlds, Kajabi facilitates live learning by using a variety of integrations and workarounds. There's no native livestreaming on the Kajabi course's primary platform. This is dependent on a third party streaming platform like YouTube and StreamYard. But, Kajabi recently acquired a live streaming and chat service called Vibely that they've moved under the Kajabi name as "Kajabi 2.0". This provides Kajabi an option for livestreaming, education, and meeting option however it is an entirely separate platform.

On a desktop, Kajabi 2.0 will open as a separate tab, while on a mobile it will require downloading an additional Kajabi app.

    Memberships and communities

Kajabi Community 2.0

As far as online communities, acquiring Vibely provides Kajabi with better options. Traditionally, Kajabi's community was an extremely basic chat forum. But with the acquisition from Vibely, Kajabi added:

  • Event  chat and DMs, and a discussion board feature that can be organized into "circles." This means more tools for meetings, livestreaming, and more expansive discussions than Kajabi could traditionally deal with.
  • More comprehensive member directories with custom profiles. Members are able to locate other members with whom they share interests.

But, as we stated above, the serious UX problem for Kajabi 2.0 is the fact that it needs an additional app. This means 2 downloads and two log-ons, as opposed to. one community that is all-in-one and a course application. This will be discussed further below.

Which one is more effective?

In general, Kajabi is better here for live learning and communities. Kajabi 2.0 adds a lot of functionality for live meetings and live teaching that LearnWorlds isn't able to do in its native. The separate app is annoying however, you're still using a Kajabi product. For instance, you could, integrate WebEx with LearnWorlds, which would create exceptional live interactions. But you would likely have to purchase WebEx also.

Take note that if you're creating a membership or community business, neither of these platforms are the right platform to begin. These are course platforms which have attempted to build the features of membership and community but neither is designed well to handle this.

Business & Marketing

LearnWorlds

LearnWorlds Page Builder

In terms of branding, LearnWorlds has the tools to create a course that looks and feels like yours. This starts with course design web pages as well as templates for websites (over 400 templates). The site-builder is drag-and-drop and simple to use. You can also create custom code and design something from scratch.

Although Kajabi is well known for its the tools for marketing and business, LearnWorlds has incorporated some beneficial tools as well. It includes:

  • Pop-up Builder that comes with pre-determined marketing funnels to sell courses
  • The option to promote coupons, promos as well as an affiliate program of your own (with the dashboard)
  • Different ways to sell and gate the sale of memberships, courses bundles, subscriptions or courses
  • advanced community analytics with automated insights and segmentation by users' behaviour

Kajabi

Kajabi is a builder for websites too, with a similar drag-and-drop page editor that is able to be customized the page of a course. But it can also create different elements of a traditional website as well as helpful marketing pages (downloads, sales pages, opt-ins, etc. )

Kajabi integrated marketing

Sales and marketing funnels of Kajabi are like bread and butter. This includes:

  • Marketing funnels that are pre-designed and email tools that all work together to enable you to make more sales on your courses.
  • Email platform with subscriber management, tags segmentation, as well as automatic delivery
  • Tools for e-commerce, such as the recovery of abandoned carts coupon codes, upsells, or abandoned cart recovery
  • Flexible Monetization using free trials, subscriptions, or bundles

Which is the best?

Kajabi's marketing tools stand out on this front. LearnWorlds has lots of good options, however Kajabi comes out on top for having stronger marketing tools with more email options and better integration of everything across its platform for courses. LearnWorlds has some automated emails, but is not the complete email platform Kajabi has.

Kajabi is well-deserved reputation as a marketing powerful tool.

apps and access

LearnWorlds

LearnWorlds is a unique learning platform because it provides only branded apps. (Many platforms also offer an integrated basic app but no white-label apps.) App platform is a drag-and-drop, DIY application builder you can submit to LearnWorlds for deployment.

LearnWorlds App Builder

It's fine if you need a course application that is branded. It's not a significant upsell from LearnWorlds' main products, which is an issue for instructors looking for a course-app that's included. Additionally, the app is also poorly rated-and one of the most frequent criticisms of LearnWorlds is on G2. LearnWorld's track record here isn't great, so if you're considering having the app as a key part of your program Make sure that LearnWorlds fulfill the requirements you're requesting to.

Kajabi

In the way we've hinted at through the article the Kajabi app does exist. However, it requires several apps to get its main features, which isn't ideal and can cause annoyance. This includes:

Kajabi Course App It is the original of Kajabi apps, which is the best in asynchronous classes. The app provides a table of contents and individual lessons.

Kajabi main app

Kajabi Community Application  The Kajabi Community App is the rebranded Vibely application that is used for live streaming and live meetings and also an excellent community feature built around "circles."

Kajabi 2.0 - app screens

Kajabi also has a new, branded app option which lines up with LearnWorld's branded application. We do not have lots of information about this option however, it does appear to be similar to LearnWorld in concept- you build a course and then Kajabi costs you an additional fee to make it available on the App Store and Google Play Store. This is the only way to have the Kajabi course and community in the same app (which is what other platforms provide without the need to purchase a premium plan).

Which one is more effective?

It depends.

  • The apps of Kajabi are available with its plans. However, it's a bit annoying to have to use two separate apps in order to run courses as well as communities. If you were just looking to run an asynchronous course using the Kajabi application, then the first would work perfectly fine.
  • LearnWorlds only offers a brand-named app. It is a costlier way to access any mobile device for your learners. The reviews are also poor.

The short answer is, neither Kajabi or LearnWorlds really does that well with applications. On both platforms, the apps do not have an obvious connection to their courses, and they aren't connected in a manner that makes sense when compared to other course platforms-in which applications are native having the same capabilities of the webapp.

The Verdict

In comparing LearnWorlds vs Kajabi, the verdict will differ based on what features you prefer.

  • If you're looking for high-quality marketing tools, with apps that is included, Kajabi might be a superior choice.
  • If you're looking for the most comprehensive platform for courses and don't mind paying for a branded app (to have access to all apps) Then LearnWorlds may be the better choice.

But neither is designed to live-stream interaction with students. The platforms do not have native livestreaming or live teaching within the same room as a course.

Both are trying to catch up with synchronous course experiences, and neither of them is the best platform for running a course and community together.

Are you looking for a better alternative?

is host to more $1 million community members unlike any other, and integrates courses with ease. It's also G2's most highly-rated community management tool, which hosts community and courses for major brands and artists like Mel Robbins, Matthew Hussey, TED, Jim Kwik, Tony Robbins, Marie Forleo, and nuun.
