How to get out of overwhelm as a coach -

Jun 21, 2024

The majority of coaches I have spoken to are feeling pretty overwhelmed with everything they need to complete.

They're not clear on who their dream customer is.

There are too many deals.

They are too busy to try and get awareness and leads.

It's not easy for them to figure out how they can enroll individuals into their program.

They use too many different softwares that they have to glue together with the use of rubber bands and zaps.

They work too hard for their clients, and then burn out even though they are passionate about their coach.

Are any of these topics in tune with you?

There are three types of stress that I frequently see coaches suffer from:

Strategy overwhelm

Client overwhelm

Systems are overwhelmed

Let's look at them in one by one.

Strategies Overwhelm

In terms of strategy, coaches are often faced with too many offers, they're trying to do too many things in order in an effort to get the attention of leads and gain their interest, and often they can't decide which type of customer they should target.

There's also a lack of clarity about how they'd like to sell to draw participants to join their program.

At first you'll try out a few things. That's okay.

But you really want to master those Five Ones.

Five Ones: The Five Ones say that if you focus upon...

One avatar

One traffic source

One offer

One enrollment mechanism

One year

You can hit a million dollars in revenue.

If you're not at the million-dollar mark Don't think about creating a second avatar, a different traffic source, another offer, or a second registration method.

Coaches who aren't making enough money to pay the salaries they'd like think they need to increase their offerings as well as more items, avatars, more traffic sources ... all to expand their market so they can bring in more clients.

When the exact opposite is in fact the situation.

The goal is to narrow it down. Make sure you are precise. Choose.

It's not about making the right decision.

The key is to make a decision, and making it right.

You can make any of them work.

Choose one and stay to it until you've reached the million-dollar mark.

I am aware of how difficult this could be.

With the right guidance and support, you are able to do any work.

If you've seen someone succeed with it, you know it's possible.

After that, it's simply finding the right details.

Client Overwhelm

Although our coaches are passionate about coaching and love our clients but sometimes, it's too much.

If you're putting in many 1:1 sessions with clients, it's easy to become exhausted.

You're constantly saying the same things over and over again.

You know this feeling of an amazing thing flowing out of you in a client session, and don't know where it came from. It's incredible!

Now you're upset that a lot of people will not get to hear your brilliance since you're speaking it in a private 1-on-1 session!

Some coaches not only do one-on-one work, but are also doing the work for their clients. A done-for-you type model.

And yes, you can boost your prices so that you earn more money as a coach, and possibly take on fewer clients.

It's also not very easily scalable.

What's scalable is group coaching.

Craft a group program in which you interact with all of your clients all at once.

The template, the framework, live group coaching, and even a community.

You don't only get them however, they also gain the other.

This means that, as the number of clients increase, so will the worth of your program.

If you're not currently conducting group coaching, or if a group coaching program is not the core of your company, this should be the first thing you consider and should be the "One deal" within the Five Ones.

Systems overwhelm

Nowadays, it's common to have the following: five (or seven), nine or more softwares to run your coaching company.

Website host like Wordpress or Wix

Email marketing software or ESP (Email Service Provider) similar to MailChimp or ConvertKit

Shopping cart like Shopify or Samcart

Course platform or LMS such as Teachable or Kajabi

Video hosting similar to Vimeo or Wistia

Funnel software or page builder like ClickFunnels or LeadPages

Software for community similar to Circle or MightyNetworks

Scheduler similar to Calendly or SavvyCal

Survey Tool like TypeForm or SurveyMonkey

Affiliate tracking tool like Post or Tapfiliate, Affiliate Pro

Pipeline for Sales such as Pipedrive, or Close.com

CRM such as Hubspot or Ontraport

   Zapier to connect them all!

There's some overlap on this list, as certain of these tools can do multiple things.

However, there are others that are also often used and I didn't mention.

The list can get rather long quite quickly.

It's not just adding the cost of a monthly bill.

Additionally, it adds lots of mental bandwidth for you.

First, there's the decision fatigue of having to choose between all of these options.

For each category listed, there are numerous alternatives that each has the advantages and disadvantages Some are in multiple categories.

They must be evaluated in all of them, before deciding the one you'll choose and then determine how they'll integrate into the rest of your stack.

And then comes the actual process of integration.

Do they speak directly to one another, or do you have to use Zapier to "zap" them together?

Another issue, and the connections are weak.

They'll fail, especially in the time of vacation and it's your responsibility (or your staff if they have one, and if they're able to solve the issue) and to make it right.

There's also the psychological bandwidth that comes with switching between softwares, each one having a slightly different approach.

It causes lots of context switching in which it is necessary to switch your work style every few minutes.

If your logo appears in more than four places, it might be time to consider a better alternative.

With NO zaps.

There is no glue.

There are no rubber bands.

Everything you need to run your business from the same place.

It's like finding your home along the interent.

And all the parts talk easily with each other.

The clients you have on your database only need to enter their information one time, and you'll can store it in your database.

Connect the opt-in for them to schedule an appointment with you to discuss strategy.

Easy. Clean. Simple.
