With a global workforce over 300,000, Stellantis is the manufacturer of brands like Peugeot, Fiat, and Chrysler - knows the importance of scaling, well, pretty much all things. "We are within the top five automobile manufacturing companies in the world." declares Phil Price, Head of The Performance Academy, Stellantis. "As the learning and development sphere grew, we very quickly realized it was all about what we can provide our workforce to improve the performance of their employees." Then, The Performance Academy was born.

The headquarters are in the auto capital of England, the folks at The Performance Academy produce thousands of hours of training content to Stellantis employees. However, to stay in touch with their ever-growing employee base, they needed a repeatable method of sharing information with teams across all over the world. "We've invested a significant amount of time looking at the ways people would like to learn," says Phil. "Video-based online instruction is the future."

An active member of the community for more than a decade, the team is always aware of the benefits of video. In this regard, Stellantis is shifting their attention toward an entirely online approach. "With face-to-face training, you have to replicate the same training 10 times, with the expense of 10 different costs," he says. "With video, there is no limits."

Unrestricted learning

"We have on average, about 350 hours worth of resources available during a day," notes Phil. "Behind that 35 hours of content, we've probably have tens of thousands of hours of content we've created and refined in the past 12 years."

The content catalog means every employee can learn what they want to learn at the times and places that work for the individual. "Our training is available 24/7," he adds. "That's crucial, as we see people doing the training on their own schedules as they are aware that they'll enhance their performance."

Powerhouse Productions

Now, The Performance Academy is expanding to provide live streamed live on a regular basis that range from sales seminars to board-level communication. In order to achieve this, The Performance Academy has been investing into their production capabilities, operating as a mini Hollywood studio located in the middle of Coventry, England.

"Look at where we're right now," says Phil. "We're inside our studio. We're in our own ability to create an overlay and create anything we'd like to. Everything you be able to see in a film you can do it in The Performance Academy."

Partners for growth

Today, with the help of professional production tools and a crack team of L&D experts, The Performance Academy uses to create, host and share their works. "As the learning and development sector has grown, it The Performance Academy has been developing its delivery methods, models, and reporting," says Phil. "We've been able to gain from it."

" the company is thinking about, 'How do we bring this amazing work and give it to an end-user?' " The benefits that we have working with is that we're in control," notes Phil. "It's a testament to scaling, the right partners, appropriate team members, as well as the best ideas about what the future holds."
