A few days ago, I had the chance to watch Olga posting posts on Instagram about my home town which I was raised in. The urban forest of Warsaw is an under-appreciated, sacred green zone. I'd like to explore it in summer, for a look at the beautiful pines, and breathe a breath of fresh air to my urban lung. In her story, Olga visited this area in her first time but she was amazed by the oldest gardens located in Warsaw. It's likely that in the near future she'll be painting an Boernerowo inspired work.

We were interested in hearing from Olga which elements she relies on as the base for creating minimal collages. She also focuses on creating landscapes with human forms.

"My name"is Olga Szczechowska, and I'm living in Warsaw. Since the age of a youngster I've been painting and drawing lots. I went to an art class during high school. I was in the department of Painting and the Cultural Studies in the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun.

I'm an illustrator, painter and graphic designer. My work is a examine the interactions between humans and nature, and pay close attention to how we design the natural environment in our backyards. When I look at hedges that are cut, ornamental plants and well-designed home gardens I'm capturing the beauty and wonder of our surroundings."

"For many years, I've also been creating minimalist collages. The collages are made in the shape of landscapes and still-life or from my research into patterns, textures, and colors.

My style is diverse as paintings and collage are quite different. There is a thing in common They both have the ability to calm. I've seen "soothing" by my audience many times and think it's the most appropriate description for my work. When I get bored in creating art, I design collages. Also, reverse. One particular style may provide an the chance to briefly escape that one.

I believe that being aware is essential. I am attentive to all that I notice, and that includes the architecture, environment as well as objects. That is evident in my art. The works I create don't have the human being. But it is possible to feel the presence of human presence on trimmed hedges, or the mug placed at the counter in my kitchen."
