The Next Chapter

The year 2008 was when I made a team 2008 with an acquaintance at the time. Stu McLaren and me put our expertise together to form the team.

We had no idea we'd be taking off on this incredible trip. WordPress was growing rapidly. It was an exciting period. Some confusion was present but there was plenty of evidence that suggested that WordPress could outdo Joomla and Drupal.

For a better understanding, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga had a huge impact as young stars in the world of music. The majority of our current members were just at the beginning of their schooling when we began our adventure.

In the age of internet-based marketing, discussion about sites for membership were very extremely popular. However, there were no possibilities of creating an online site for membership with the help of WordPress. A majority of the development firms had a focus on themes. So, the premium-plugin industry wasn't even an option.

We thought this was an opportunity to take action immediately. Mike Lopez was our Jedi programmer who was able to develop whatever concepts we asked for him to create. He developed the first version of Member independently in less than three months.

Like my earlier projects in the area of software, there was a demand to address a need, which I addressed by coming with a perfect solution to the problem we all face. It's no surprise that Member experienced some rapid growth. In the first year, most of our transactions relied on the word of people. Sales grew significantly beyond that year. We were able to spend nothing on marketing.

It's the possibility that entrepreneurs imagine.

When we began our journey, when we began, we received an initial inquiry regarding selling our business. The reply was extremely flattering however they also were looking for brands that were established and in which the founder had decided to leave. It was a new company and dynamic, which made totally absurd.

On the day of the closing an initial enquiry was an undisputed proof. They were "Built to sell" in addition to other people interested.

After the initial inquiry I made contact with a trusted friend I had thought of as an experienced advisor. His entrepreneurial experience includes owning several different businesses. One example is an investment firm called Venture Capital. In addition, he's sold many companies during his time. Therefore, it's no surprise that He's an authority.

My friend gave me a key concept. He said "the crucial aspect to selling your business is to know who is buying it, and then make the company an ideal fit."

It was a brilliant concept that made a lot of sense, but there were small problems. If you collaborate together with an associate, you're building an organisation that only one of the partners would want to join. It's a joint venture the partners worked together to develop in partnership. Another reason is there is no purchaser.

Over the course of time, Stu and I formed Mike as a minority partner. It was probably in 2010.

The web design landscape was significantly altered in the second quarter of 2014. Stu decided to keep his interest in education and focus on training members to create effective websites for their membership. Mike and I worked at the firm who developed the software.

In a matter of minutes I was able to assume the position of principal shareholder along with the shareholder. It was terrifying , but exciting throughout the process.

My leadership team as well as I took a trip to Colorado for a focus on making plans.

It was obvious that it was time to commence making adjustments. It was now time to put aside any focus to what we've achieved through time, and to be sure of what we're capable to do over the next few years. Personally, I was looking to let go of thinking about creating what I had imagined some one would like to purchase, and instead think about what sort of company I'd love to run.

The past couple of months have been a great learning experience for me. of things. One of the most obvious is the fact that isolation causes businesses owners to fail. Being in business can be very lonely in times. It is essential to have relations and connections that assist in bringing peace and peace for your employees.

It is impossible to determine if an acquaintance can be a genuine connection...

I was fortunate to meeting Micah Mitchell at a conference. He was working with a person selling an app that was similar to Member. Many people might think they're one of the best competitions. This isn't something I was thinking about. I just knew that this person was awesome. I'd like to meet with his personality.

Over the next two decades, Micah was leaving his previous employer and starting the business Memberium. A lot of people would have believed that he was less of an eminent threat. The only thing I could say was that I enjoyed his persona.

My proof came from running over him at the security line of the airport. We had an enjoyable chat about our actions and the happenings within the companies we were working for. Afterward, we realized that the seats we'd previously allotted were part of the plane. Could this be a trick? Perhaps, somebody thought of concocting the entire scheme. The whole thing was just a chance.

Also, we began thinking about the perfect April Fool's Day joke in which we'd reveal that Micah had just bought Member. It was amusing to contemplate that it might be called Memberium. You can add 360 into the name for an even more appealing name. Some readers can understand.

The first time I had an invitation to the forefront of my software contest (thanks Delta!) became a lasting friendship. We frequently gathered to discuss topics of business during lunches over the course of many years. Our conversations came to an end as my family and me relocated home to Tennessee. The friendships we had enjoyed while living in Utah as well. It was a struggle to let them go.

I love developing software. It's thrilling to see the idea realized is exhilarating. It's more fun being part of a great team and the result is much more than you ever imagined it would be. An excellent example is the most recent update to every class and the additional material for members.

It's enjoyable to hear the sound however, it's also an challenging task. When you've gotten to the top of one yard, and you're only a couple of yards away from making the score, you may have a stalemate from all your efforts.

While we were finishing the development and planning for the release of our most recent product, I started to get tired. I began to realize that it was best to look for a genuine business partner for marketing. A partner that understood the market and can assist in taking my client to the next stage. I've made numerous calls to trusted contacts in the business world. My wife has informed me that Micah could be one of the applicants. My wife informed me that I'll reach out to Micah on the next day.

When I called Micah Micah randomly texted me an SMS. It was almost as if I was sitting in the seat of Micah on the plane. It is sometimes evident that events occur for an intention.

Discussions led to the idea to sell Member to Micah's business MemberShipper which is accountable for Memberium. Our product that we developed using Member is exactly what MemberShipper was looking to incorporate into their portfolio.

Through the years I've received numerous inquiries about selling the business. The majority of them did not seem to be right up until this point. I was determined to ensure that Member remains a respected company. Additionally, I wanted to ensure that the amazing staff will be taken care of.

Each step of the way revealed to us that it's the right choice for each member of the team and all our wonderful customers who have supported us through many time.

I'm extremely grateful for the leadership of every party. They've put in a lot of effort to make the transition as effortless as it can be for me. It's inspiring to see all of the team members working together.

One of the most frequent questions I receive currently is "What's your next move to you? ".

Although I'm sure I'd love to retire, what truly do I need is some time to myself. I'm hoping to utilize the spare time to enjoy my time to enjoy with my beloved family members.

What's the significance to you If you're already a Member?

Simply put The team will be expected to continue to come up with new suggestions and the Members platform will continue to improve and perfected. It will never slow down.

I'm committed to working alongside Micah and the other members of our team all year. It's a position that can be described as an perfect job. Now, I'm an "Director of Strategic Partnerships" for both the brand names that belong to MemberShipper.

I will be at numerous gatherings during the next couple of months. My goal is to offer maximal value throughout the coming year. It's my goal to ensure that Member take Micah's suggestion.

It's possible that I will be around longer than I imagined.

I've never felt more secure about the prospects for the group than I do now. It's only the beginning of the future.
